Ron Paul supporters call CSPAN

CSPAN's Independence Day Washington Journal morning discussion on the Founding Fathers and Iraq had Ron Paul supporters calling in from New York, North Carolina, Texas, and -of course - Iowa City. All were very articulate and passionate about our guy and hopeful about the direction of the nation.

The guy from Brooklyn put it very succinctly - Ron Paul is the best presidential candidate we have as the closest to "Founding Fathers material". The lady from North Carolina stated she just found out about Congressman Paul through a friend who encouraged her to watch - and as she put it learn about the constitution - from a YouTube video of Ron Paul speaking.

In his farewell address to the nation in 1961, President Eisenhower warned the nation to be cautious about allowing the military-industrial complex to have too much influence in the government, and to instead always work for the ideals of peace and freedom.

His warning and advice is all too relevant today as we may be going into Iran.

"If tyranny and oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy. Of all the enemies to public liberty, war is perhaps the most to be dreaded.
The loss of liberty at home is to be charged to the provisions against danger, real or imagined, from abroad."
. . . . . . . . . . . . — Founding Father James Madison (Virginia)
