In the 1970s, The Rolling Stone began to make a mark for its political coverage and now in 2007 it is getting in to the fray with an article in it's May 31 edition where Tim Dickinson takes shots at the GOP race with a piece titled :
ALL FLIPPER, NO GIPPER - The GOP's pathetic candidadates, or : Why three wrongs can't please the right."
Among some of the harshest criticism is that directed at Willard (Mitt)Romney -
"Romney has flip-flopped on nearly every political position he has ever taken."
and cancer patient Fred Thompson - "This is a man who served eight undistinguished, skirt-chasing years in the Senate before stepping down because the job required too much effort - "I don't like spending fourteen- and sixteen-hour days voting" said Thompson.
The exception is the constitutionalist Republican from a Gulf Coast district of Texas - and another Ron - Ron Paul.
The "CEO of 9/11" - Rudy Giuliani 
It is believed that the attacks were originally planned to be executed between March and September 2000 but eventually occurred on the morning of September 11, 2001, when nineteen terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial passenger jet airliners.
But Atta and the al-Qaeda network patiently needed to wait for self-proclaimed "9/11 CEO" Rudy Giuliani to challenge the INS with his defiant Sanctuary City policy enabling the 19 terrorists to stay in the U.S. and use Giuliani's New York City as their launching platform.
Giuliani is a closet Libertarian on immigration and border control.
Constitutionalist Republican Dr. Ron Paul - whose border policy includes opposition to the North American Union uniting Canada, the United States, and Mexico and NO AMNESTY is the safest policy America can establish in the WOT.
The "CEO of 9/11" - Rudy Giuliani - IS just that precisely - his actions enabled Atta and the gang of 19 to carry out the attacks against the United States - which cost the world 2,973 people lives with an additional 24 missing and presumed dead.
His disregard for INS policy and U.S. law in the months previous to September 11, 2001 culminated with his disdain for the Supreme Court ruling against him as late as September 5, 2001 - We just thought that you would want to know what Rudy was up to BEFORE September 11..

Is Paul having an impact?
Asked on Thursday 05.17.2007 for MSNBC National affairs writer Tom Curry's article what impact he is having on the Republican presidential race, Paul said, “I think it might be significant that one of the so-called front-runners needed to attack me on national television. They must think I’m having enough of an impact that they have to try to discredit me. That was the purpose of the (Giuliani) attack: to discredit me so that my foreign policy challenge wouldn’t be heard.”
He added, “What annoys them the most is that I don’t criticize foreign policy from the Left; I criticize it from the Right, from a conservative viewpoint, from a constitutional viewpoint. It drives them nuts.”
Paul, a ten-term House member from Texas and the 1988 Libertarian candidate for president, admits most Republican voters don’t agree with his non-interventionist approach to foreign policy.
“I think the majority of Republicans right now are in the camp of intervention — but they’re also asking a lot of questions because of what happened in last year’s election and they know that they lost the election over foreign policy,” he said.
Complete U.S. exit from Iraq
Paul supports withdrawing all U.S. troops from Iraq — not leaving some behind for counter-terrorism operations and training Iraqi soldiers, as advocated by Democratic contenders Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama.
And what of the consequences of U.S. exit from Iraq?
“It may be much better,” Paul said. “The Arab League may take over. Israel may be much more of a player there rather than us suppressing Israel. There’s all kinds of good things that could come of it.”

Next Iowa Campaign Trip Plans
Plans are underway for Congressman Paul's next visit(s) to Iowa during the summer after the preliminary rounds of the GOP debates. A list of volunteers is being assembled for the eastern Iowa leg of the visit in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Clinton, and Butlington/Fort Madison - or other suggestions. Volunteers are needed for all sorts of functions for Ron Paul and wife Carol - including such simple help as short rides to local events for other supporter friends. Iowa Campaign Trip

Dear friend,
Our campaign trips to New Hampshire and Arizona were very successful as I reported to you earlier. I'm now pleased to report that our recent trip to Iowa was equally successful.
On Wednesday, April 11th, I met with several conservative leaders for breakfast in Cedar Rapids. Afterwards, I was interviewed by members of the editorial board of the Cedar Rapids Gazette. Following that interview, I appeared on the CBS television affiliate for a live broadcast.
The College Republicans at the University of Iowa sponsored a speaking engagement for me that afternoon. The room was completely full and folks were standing in the hall. That evening, it was standing-room only again for a fundraising reception in Ankeny. One couple drove 190 miles in snow to attend the reception! Everyone's enthusiasm filled the room that night.
On Thursday morning, popular Des Moines radio host Jan Michelson of WHO interviewed me for 90 minutes in studio. Our conversation was lively as were the callers. It was then off to the Des Moines Register for a meeting with members of the editorial board. Later, I met with a large group of supporters at a restaurant in Ames.
Iowa State University had me speak Thursday night as part of its lectures program. Over 200 people attended. Among them was a couple and their children who drove seven hours from Minnesota to attend! The Iowa State College Republicans hosted a reception for us after the lecture.
Enthusiastic support for our campaign was found in New Hampshire and then Arizona and now Iowa. I appreciate the hospitality and support from people in those states, as well as the support and encouragement from folks across the country. I'll be speaking at the state convention of the California Republican Assembly this Saturday in Ontario, California and am looking forward to meeting fellow conservatives there.

Hawkeyes Welcome Ron Paul !
The University of Iowa College Republicans along with key Johnson County, IA Republican Party caucus members and southeastern Iowa's leading Libertarians all welcomed GOP candidate Dr. Ron Paul to the University of Iowa campus on Wednesday, April 11. KGAN-TV (CBS) Channel 2 in Cedar Rapids had a live interview with Congressman Ron Paul before his "Restoring the Constitution" talk and questions from the audience.
In addition, a Meet and Greet Fundraiser is planned for this evening starting at 7:30 pm at the Fairfield Inn in Ankeny just off I-35 north of Des Moines.
Dr. Paul will be on 1040 AM WHO Des Moines News/Talk Radio from 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Thursday April 12, and the Texas Congressman will also talk in the South Ballroom, Memorial Union on the Iowa State University campus in Ames starting at 7:00pm on Thursday night.
Ron Paul comes off as an articulate, extremely intelligent, energetic, and compassionate speaker . . . kinda how one would envision a Presidential candidate SHOULD be.
He is a "must see" if you can at all make it to the Iowa State campus on Thursday night !
Event at "The Five Spot" in IowaWith the March 12 formal filing by Texan Ron Paul with the Federal Election Commission in his bid to seek the GOP nomination for President of these United States, the preparations can begin with University officials for use of the Pentacrest.
Per University guidelines eleven posters will be needed for the main boards with another 139 posters needed for display on bulletin boards located on each floor of the residence halls with posters distributed by the University Housing Office to be permitted only on designated bulletin boards.
When Iowa was becoming a state in 1846 this site overlooking the Iowa River in Johnson County was chosen as the most perfect by those French-Canadian settlers whose "hache" (aka hatchet or axe) had been used to clear these prairelands.
After Macbride Hall completed the four surrounding buildings built by 1924 the Old State Capitol and those four surrounding buildings were called "the five spot" by the depression era Iowans and a contest was later held to formally name this site . . . the winner was and is . . .
the Pentacrest.
The Union in 1846 - in part because of the work of Governeur Morris and Samuel Johnson in August of 1787 - had recognized that some states of the East would desire to be free and some states of the South would be slave states - the greatest indication that the drafters of the constitution desired that this union of states would be mostly federal in characteristic - save for a common defense, the security of liberty - by a supreme judiciary, and some general welfare - like public health and environmental concerns now -
- and that these states should be accorded the right to determine their destiny even when there are issues with very different politics. The U.S. Constitution was designed for state autonomy!
Texas - the 28th state was being admitted to the Union - and as a slave state, Texas needed a free state - a "sister" state. Iowa - HAD to be born . . .
So, as the settlers and Iowan Indians co-existed in this territory, the first State Constitution of Iowa was drafted in this building.
Hey. . . the Iraqis might be off to a good enough start by some accounts . . .albeit a bit radical - and they got this two - or more - party political sysytem -
I think it Sunnis and Shites - along with some thugs hanging around !

As the student protests of 1970 and 1974 took place with the likes of Patricia Farrell on the Pentacrest -
we just might - if the powers that be - let us . . . just be able to repeat that simple two word banner again . . .

Ron Paul To Make Campaign Stop in IowaGOP Congressman Ron Paul and his wife Carol are being extended an invitation by the Iowans for Ron Paul 2008 for a March 2007 visit.
The tentative itinerary includes a rally from the steps of the Old Capitol Building Museum in Iowa City with organizers utilizing the adjacent park between Washington Street and Jefferson Street across from Phillips Hall.
